Built in 1919 by the same designer that built th Bluebird Theater, the Ogden Theatre went from hosting live performances (Illusionist Harry Houdini once performed there!), to a movie theater in 1937, and back to live entertainment in 1993. Operated by AEG Live, it is the middle child (both in size and location) of it’s Colfax Avenue siblings: the larger Fillmore Auditorium and the smaller Bluebird Theater. Occasionally, the Ogden Theatre hosts “club shows” for bands that could easily sell out much larger venues such as System of a Down, A Perfect Circle, Duran Duran, and Queens of the Stone Age.
Insider Tip: You can you avoid service charges by purchasing tickets at the Ogden Theatre box office on Saturdays between 10 AM and 2 PM, or at EITHER the Ogden Theatre or Bluebird Theater box offices during any scheduled performance!
